I’m a musician – most often a folksinger, but at times a contra dance player, teacher, bass player, arranger, sound engineer…

I live in Severna Park, Maryland (near Annapolis and Baltimore). I’m always looking for other musicians to play with (either for fun or for money, or better yet, both!). I’m not actively teaching instrument lessons now, but if you want a lesson, call me up!

I teach Music Together classes in Annapolis for Music Together Chesapeake. This is an immersion-style parent & child music class aimed at kids from 9 months to 5 years. It helps kids develop the musicianship they’ll need to sing or play music throughout their lives. It’s a ton of fun, too!

I’m best known as the guitarist and lead singer of the Philadelphia-based electric folk band Broadside Electric. From time to time I’ve played in other bands – Irish, old-time, contra dance, country, blues and rock. As a folksinger, I perform solo and as a duo with my wife, Amy Ksir. We are the managers and hosts of the 333 Coffeehouse, and sit on the board of 333’s sponsor, the Annapolis Traditional Dance Society.

Amy and I, with Emily Aubrey (fiddle) and Robin Wilson (concertina, flute, sax) make up the contra dance band I-97.

Here’s my YouTube channel.

I play and (occasionally) teach:

I also play cittern (bouzouki) for some kinds of music (mainly Irish), piano when the need arises (though not necessarily well), and harmonica just because it’s fun to play.
